El Parador
245 Eversholt Street Camden Town London NW1 1BA
The culinary vision of Carlos Horrillo and Patrick Morcas, El Parador is one sublime restaurant – a family-run place that's basically a tapas joint, but one founded on the notion that the best tapas are a collection of simple dishes, made using the freshest and best ingredients that you can get your hands on. Throw in some authentic family recipes and humble hospitality (also provided by the family) and it’s hard to find a better place to eat tapas in London. Everything is good, but the standard winners include the pan-baked hake, acorn-fed jamon and the quintessential tortilla – and there’s plenty of non-Spanish options too, often using flavours and ideas from all over the Mediterranean. You'll even be impressed by the bread and shockingly more-ish aioli, and the vegetarian selection is superb. There’s also stunning garden terrace for al fresco dining in summer and a private downstairs area which seats up to thirty people.
