Clerkenwell Walking Tours
Clerkenwell
One of the best ways to get a bit deeper into the history of a London neighbourhood is to take a guided walking tour, and those run by the Clerkenwell & Islington Guides Association are excellent, with no pre-booking necessary. Some are free, others for a small charge with fewer partivipants; you can also arrange private excursions. Tours include ‘Murders, monasteries and martyrs’, which starts at Barbican tube station, and a Clerkenwell tour, ‘Radicals, religions and rivers’, which starts at Farringdon station. Both take in places and sights that you can only see with registered guides.
