Originally established in 1958, this friendly little Dutch cafe is London's original pancake house and has been doing what it does best for almost half a century. A fun and relaxed place, every year, on Pancake Day they hold events ranging from pancake eating competitions, to frying pan races, and pancake flipping contests. If you’d prefer to just relax and enjoy the food, then you can start simple with sugar and lemon; or, for something a little more interesting, you can do pancakes the Dutch way… with ice-cream and a shot of Vermeer, the only liqueur made with real Dutch chocolate! Don't worry if pancakes aren't really for you. They also serve a wide range of traditional Dutch starters and desserts on their menu, and their drinks list includes fruit beers, wines, spirits, hot drinks and famous 'Old Dutch Shakes' to accompany the food. With a massive amount of gluten-free choices, too, and decent a kids' menu, there's something for everyone at this Holborn institution.
