Heath Street Galleries
Heath Street Hampstead London NW3
Hampstead has a number of interesting art galleries – with a promising cluster on Heath Street, just east (right) of Hampstead Tube station. The largest, best established of these is the Catto Gallery at 100 Heath St, which tends to favour bright, eyecatching canvases by artists including David Gerstein, Chuck Elliott and Lisa Swerling. A few doors down at no.92 is the Lahd Gallery which promotes adventurous Arab world and Middle Eastern artists, many of them women. Across the road at no. 87 is Gilden’s Art Gallery, a more traditional dealer, which specialises in original prints from Picasso, Chagall, Braque, Miro, Matisse and the Ecole de Paris, as well as East European, Russian and Jewish artists.
