Shoreditch Grind
213 Old Street, Hoxton, London EC1V 9NR
An Aussie-run establishment, this place turns out fine coffee as only Australians can, whether your taste is for flat whites, espresso or lungho macchiato. It’s nicely housed in a circular brick building near an exit of Old Street tube: there’s some simple seating, and good snacks, pastries and sarnies are served. With a constant influx of customers, and a barebones, stripped-down interior, it’s not an especially good place to linger, but service is rapid and efficient, making it perfect for a quick caffeine pick-up. At night, the place morphs into a laid-back cocktail bar.
