This long-running food store has been supplying the well-heeled residents of Kensington with food and drink from around the globe since 1972, and remains one of the few family-run food shops in central London. You'll find everything here from Rougié Sarlet fois gras and Partridge's goose fat to the very best of European olive oils and fine wines – in short, everything you need for a very sophisticated dinner party. Once upon a time of course the range would had been really exotic but it still manages to pull off a selection that's a cut above what you might find elsewhere. There's a particularly good American section, with all manner of treats from across the pond including Mott's apple sauce, Durkee marshmallow fluff, Smucker's grape jelly and – of course – Oreo cookies. There's also a wine bar and café, these days – and the market outside in the square on Saturdays.
