The Ledbury
127 Ledbury Road Notting Hill London W11 2AQ
A Notting Hill institution, the double-Michelin-starred Ledbury takes its food very seriously. The surroundings can seem a little intimidating, and the prices can be eye-watering, but for a posh treat it's great – and their three-course lunch menu is one of the bargains of the area: for around the same price as you'd pay for a main course in the evening, you can eat very well indeed, starting with a delicate triumph of ceviche of scallops with cucumber, kohlrabi and seaweed before moving on to blade of beef with parsnips and pickled walnuts or brill with brown crab and new potatoes. We love the space too, busy and full of energy, yet with the special feel you should always get from a restaurant of this quality. Even on weekend lunchtimes it's popular, so always book.
