Vintage Emporium
14 Bacon Street, Spitalfields, London E1 6LF
From its rose-pink exterior and swirly painted signage to the cluster of antique tables and chairs and collection of vintage luggage inside, this Victorian-style tearoom is a feast for the eyes. The waiter is a dead ringer for Johnny Depp (in Pirates of the Caribbean), incongruously serving a range of teas in dainty china cups as well as cakes and other goodies, and downstairs is a little boutique, selling clothes and accessories dating from the Victorian era to the 1950s. Life-drawing classes take place here on Tuesdays, and there are also live acoustic music sets in the tearoom.
