Fancy holidaying in Cornwall, but would rather stay outside the bustle of a town? Then Una Resort is the place for you. Situated a five-minute drive from the beach at Carbis Bay and 10 minutes from St Ives, this collection of properties offers something to suit most requirements, be it a romantic hideaway, a getaway for a small group of friends or somewhere for a two-couple break.

Perched above Carbis Bay, the contemporary retreats are within two kilometres of the beach and pet-friendly. Choose 55 Una if you're looking to vacation with your other half: the one-bedroom duplex lodge features an open-plan living/kitchen/dining space on the upper floor, while the super-king master bedroom sits at ground level, complete with French doors leading out to a decked and furnished terrace.

Go for the open-plan apartment at 71 Una if you're after something a bit bigger: two bedrooms – both en-suite, and one configurable as a twin, if preferred. From the living/dining/kitchen area, floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead out to the enclosed garden, where you'll find a hot tub. Back inside, fire up the log burner on cooler days.

If it's all about holidaying with your friends or family, opt for two-storey 69 Una, a spacious, open-plan property that houses up to eight guests. Upstairs, each of the four bedrooms has zip-and-link beds, with the en-suite master bedroom boasting a private balcony. The family bathroom is also on this floor, with a tub and walk-in shower. Below, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of seating, and a large dining table, while outside in the garden, there's furniture for al fresco meals and a hot tub.

Whichever Una is for you, you can enjoy a host of on-site communal facilities, from a café, spa, sauna, steam room and gym, to a pair of heated pools – a 15-metre indoor infinity pool and a 20-metre outdoor lido (open April to October).

For those who prefer to head out and discover Cornwall, there are several walking trails nearby on the South West Coast Path, and the sandy, Blue Flag beach at Carbis Bay is within easy reach. Or why not walk (or get the scenic train) into the arty town of St Ives, where you can check out The Tate, The Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden, and numerous excellent restaurants, including the well-known Porthminster Café? Back in Carbis Bay, Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling is a top option for a meal with a view. Then it's back to the tranquillity of your Una holiday home and its many amenities. Seaside bliss.
