South West England
Officially its largest region, the South West of England will always feel a little bit different from the rest of the country. It's not England's most historic corner but actually its most 'pre-historic' – a mystical land that's the home of myths and legends, romance and standing stones, plus the longest coastline of any English region and a holiday industry to go with it. Undiscovered it is not; but from the cliffs and beaches of Cornwall to the moorlands of Devon (encapsulated in not one but two national parks), the green rolling hills of Somerset to the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, it is without doubt England's most compelling and diverse region. Its well-developed tourist infrastructure also means that there load of great places to stay – beachside boutique hotels, clifftop cottages, woodland glamping: you name it, the South West has got it. No wonder people come back again and again!
