Strong Adolfos
Hawksfield, A39, Wadebridge, Cornwall, PL27 7LR
A unique roadside café on the Atlantic Highway between Wadebridge and Padstow, Strong Adolfos serves up great coffee and local produce alongside lashings of art, surf and motorcycle culture. Art exhibitions bring Cornwall’s seascapes to the retro-styled interior, Tuesday night bike rides (with an appearance from Wild Bake Pizzas) attract motorcyclists from far and wide, and – while the café doesn’t flaunt a pretty harbour-side location – the cuisine is on a par with what you’ll find on Padstow’s more crowded streets. From big breakfasts to signature burgers and sandwiches packed with crayfish tails and local cheeses, the menu combines local, seasonal ingredients with global influences. However, the lure of home-baked cakes and pastries, and a hit of Cornish-roasted Origin coffee is enough to have you stopping off here on any road trip along the North Cornish coast.
