Having recently opened a
reptile house where you can see crocodiles, snakes, lizards and tarantulas,
Cornwall’s Crealy never tires of finding imaginative ways to add to its family
appeal. A theme-park-cum-zoo offering something for all ages and all weathers
(and conveniently tucked not too far away from Cornwall’s north coast beaches),
it’s little surprise that this is one of the county’s most popular family attractions. On a more intimate scale than Thorpe Park or Alton Towers, there’s enough
thrill rides, kids rides and family rides (rated on age, height and the
white-knuckle factor) to keep the whole family entertained. Dare to ride
Thunder Falls and the Raging River, whizz down the mega slides or simply pet
the shire horses and farm animals. Hopping aboard the safari train is a great
way to explore the park, and on a sunny day you can leave the queues behind and
have a lazy picnic by Silver Mine Lake. Although most of the thrills are in the
outdoor domain, it’s also a great wet weather destination, with three indoor
play areas including the huge Dragon’s Kingdom play zone.
