Low Sizergh Barn
Low Sizergh Farm Low Sizergh Kendal LA8 8AE
No surprise that the Lake District is full of farm shops (it is full of farms, after all). But there isn’t another where the tea room looks down onto the milking parlour and the shop stalls are housed in the ancient byres. You’d come just for the food – farm-fresh veg to air-dried Cumbrian ham, farm cheese to organic bread – but there’s also a cracking collection of arts, crafts, antiques, gifts and toys, all beautifully displayed. And if you want to see the cows miked while enjoying a cuppa and a bite to eat, come between 3.30pm and 5pm.
