It's arguably a bit of a cheesy name, but the concept is simple: an affordable, modern hotel right next to the train station – and this one works brilliantly. Cleverly squeezed in between the rail tracks and two roads, Sleeperz offers breezy, light-filled rooms with flatscreen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi – and you needn’t worry about noise from passing trains as all the rooms are excellently soundproofed. Bag one of the corner cabin rooms if you (or your kids) fancy sleeping in bunk beds. Breakfast is an optional extra, but it’s good value.
