We must have all looked at a lighthouse before and wondered what it would be like to live inside one? Now you can actually experience it first hand and in true style. Built in 1821, the West Usk lighthouse is considered unique even amongst other lighthouses – it's not as tall, it has a larger circumference and the living quarters are within the actual building. Perhaps this was odd for lighthouses back then, but nowadays it's perfect. The large circumference provides a quirkily-shaped interior and 360 degrees of different stunning view points – one of which has a hot tub. The sunsets and sunrises over the Bristol Channel are incredible, and the tide is the second fastest in the world, so it comes in at a ferociously fast rate, engulfing the foot of the building. Inside the lighthouse is decorated to impeccable standards: wedge-shaped rooms, slate flooring, four-poster beds, and a stone spiral staircase overlooking a wishing well. You might even bump into a Dalek or Tardis throughout your stay, put there for the purpose of Doctor Who fans going to Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff.
