Crestow House
South West England Gloucestershire Stow-on-the-Wold
- Boutique Hotel
- Country House Hotel
What could be better than escaping for the weekend to a luxurious and intimate retreat in the Cotswolds? Crestow House offers guests just that. Set on the edge of Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the highest (and most charming) towns in the area, the beautifully restored Victorian manor house overlooks the Dikler Valley and is an oasis of tranquility.
Understated luxury is what they're all about - a home away from home atmosphere, stylish comfortable surroundings and top-notch service. The property has a rich history and retains plenty of original features designed by world-renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The stylish furniture has been created by local craftsmen, whilst the lighting and accessories have been sourced from all around the world, offering the perfect mix of old and new. Each of the 7 boutique bedrooms are individually decorated, and come with all the mod cons to ensure a comfortable stay: custom-made beds with 400-count Egyptian linen, 55" Smart TV's and built in wall chargers. When you’re not relaxing there, make the most of the manicured grounds (the vistas out to the rolling countryside are spectacular) or take a dip in the 36-foot outdoor swimming pool (summer months only). After a game of croquet on the perfectly manicured lawn, chill with a book in the library room, or browse their ever-changing collection of art (the house doubles-up as a gallery). Breakfast is an experience to savour, served in the airy conservatory and prepared using locally sourced ingredients from the best of Cotswold suppliers. In the evenings, a light supper menu is available, prepared by the in-house Chef. Thirsty? Enjoy a coffee on the heated veranda, or grab something stronger from the residents-only bar, complete with a wine cabinet, and an enviable selection of whiskies. If you’ve got a family party to organise, Crestow could be the ideal option – they offer exclusive hire and can help tailor the bash, providing a bespoke service and catering.
The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers an abundance of things to do, ranging from the simple pleasure of exploring quintessentially English villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burford (a haven for antique lovers) to visiting the likes of Blenheim Palace, Hidcote Manor or the whiskey-producing Cotswolds Distillery. But if you’d prefer, simply laze around at Crestow – utter bliss.
