Set in a conservation area in the heart of the Kent countryside, Green Farm is a place where you can completely switch off. The estate is home to a nature-inspired boutique spa, a 15th century farmhouse and luxurious converted barn, a small active farm and a community wildlife garden.
The lovingly restored nineteenth-century barn is perfect for family gatherings or group getaways. Sleeping 12 people (up to 14 upon request), it comprises two double bedrooms with super-king size beds and two triples, all with private or shared en-suites. There’s a modern kitchen, spacious living room with a large flatscreen TV, DVD player and music system, and extra capacity in the converted Cow Shed next door.
For couples and smaller groups, the 15th-century farmhouse offers a range of individually-designed luxurious bedrooms. The boutique spa has been created to relax and revive. From muscle-releasing deep tissue massages to brightening facial therapies, Green Farm’s friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you through the ESPA treatment menu. Spa days and stays, and weekend retreats can be tailored to meet your individual needs with the addition of yoga, meditation and woodland walks.
Food is an important part of life at Green Farm. Affable owners MaryAnn and Martin can cater breakfasts and evening meals. They create freshly prepared, non-processed dishes using produce from their impressive community garden and farm. Personalise your stay with activities such as afternoon tea or wine tasting with local winery, Chapel Down. Guests in the barn can kick back and have a chef cook in-house one night (pre-booking is essential). There are plenty of great local village pubs too: The Kings Head is a five-minute walk away and serves classics such as sausage and mash and steak and ale pie.
What makes Green Farm one of Kent’s most unique venues is its location. Listen to birdsong as you recline in the outdoor hot tub, go hiking through the countryside or relax with a book in the walled garden or by the log burner. How about spending time with the friendly animals at Green Farm? The pigs enjoy being thrown a few apples to munch on.
The estate is surrounded by 12,000 acres of ancient woodland and rolling farmland spreads down to Romney Marsh and the sea. There are endless opportunities to go exploring beyond Green Farm; nearby attractions include the famous gardens of Sissinghurst and Biddenden Vineyard. Kent is home to historic castles and cathedrals, upmarket shopping areas and miles of beautiful coastline.
All in all, Green Farm is an amazingly tranquil spot in the Garden of England, with first-rate facilities and access to scenic countryside – all just a stone's throw from the hurly-burly of London.
