Spectacular views and Pooch in Room service at the Lodore Falls hotel

Nestled at the foot of Derwent Water, the Lodore Falls hotel boasts spectacular views and has a wide range of activities right on the doorstep. People have been coming to admire the waterfalls behind the hotel for centuries, and although the Victorians may have over-emphasised their size, they are still impressive, and from the hotel's lounge you can enjoy gloriously uninterrupted views of Derwentwater lake and the Cat Bells mountain range
The hotel has recently undergone an extensive facelift and is bright and modern, yet retains much of its historic charm, with paintings and old photographs depicting interesting scenes from local history. The bedrooms are bright and modern and many come complete with stunning views of the surrounding fells. Dogs are permitted in many of the rooms in the main hotel, but not in the rooms in the new spa building. They are however very much welcomed into the hotel, with treats available on the bar and even a “Dog Dinner” available on the menu. You can dine with your dog in the dedicated lounges and there are ample grounds for exercise. If you venture further afield and return home soggier than when you left, then simply pick up a nice big fluffy dog towel from reception to dry off and warm up. Poo bags are also available from reception and there are plenty of bins dotted around the grounds. You can also leave your dog unattended in your room; the hotel will provide you with an adorable “Pooch in Room” sign to make housekeeping staff aware.
All in all, the Lodore Falls makes a great place to stay in a prime Lake District location – and is even better if you are travelling with hound in tow.
