Best sited campsite in the Lakes? In the world? Many keen hikers and campers think so, since the National Trust’s remote Great Langdale site is circled by some of the country’s most alluring peaks, notably the craggy Langdale Pikes. Facilities include a well-stocked shop (with fresh bread available every morning), and the nearest pub is only five minutes away at the renowned Old Dungeon Ghyll mountain hotel. As well as tent pitches there are also wooden camping pods – it’s open all year (and many hardy souls come in winter), but you should book well in advance in summer.

Great site with Stunning Views!
I love this site and highly recommend it to anyone heading to the area. Pitch in the right location and you'll be rewarded with amazing views up to the Langdale Pikes and being within easy walking distance of one of my favourite pubs (Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel) just perfects the location.
