Just across the cobbles from its mothership hotel, The Zetter Townhouse is a 13-bedroom Georgian townhouse and cocktail lounge with an eccentrically decorated bar and lounge, full of clutter, taxidermy and vintage finds. Staff are clothed in workwear cotton jackets and neckerchiefs and the very English cocktail and nibbles menu gives more than a nod to the Dickensian location. There’s a games room downstairs with table tennis and 3D TV alongside a preserved piece of 16th-century priory wall to remind you of the building’s age and heritage. As for the guest rooms, each is – as you would expect – quite individual, with antique furniture and beautiful bathrooms of the sort that you may well crave at home. It’s a great location too, very quiet at weekends and perfect for a long Sunday morning lie-in.
