At the far end of Bermondsey Street, just a ten-minute walk from London Bridge Station, the Bermondsey Square Hotel sits right next door to one of London's most famous antiques markets. It is also located in one of the capital's most historic neighbourhoods, close to ancient streets and great old pubs, but one which also happens to have some of the city's hippest bars and restaurants too, particularly along Bermondsey Street, which has become known as one of London's most exciting places to eat and drink in recent years. As a hipster district of artisan bakers, coffee roasters, brewers and honey-makers, there is in fact almost unlimited interest to committed foodies – you can even start the so-called 'Bermondsey Beer Mile', from nearby the hotel, taking in no less than a dozen or so local craft brewers along the way. The hotel is also ultra dog-friendly, with most of its rooms accepting dogs and offering a blanket, bed, treats and a toy to the lucky pooches who stay here. You can leave your dog in your room while you eat in the downstairs restaurant, plus there are also lots of good places to eat nearby that accept dogs, in what is a properly residential (and thus dog-friendly) neighbourhood. The hotel's rooms are stylish and contemporary, with the spacious terrace rooms best for dogs and their owners, as they have a large shared outside space. They all have complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, fresh milk, juice and water, Freeview TVs and good-sized walk-in showers and toiletries (and robes and slippers from Club rooms upwards). The Family rooms especially are great value, with plenty of room for a family of four on a king-size bed and sofa bed, and great views over the city.
Overall, then, the Bermondsey Square Hotel is excellent value – and a great choice if the immediate neighbourhood is important to you but also very well connected to the rest of the city so makes an excellent base for seeing London as as a whole.
