One of two lovely, top-end hotels in this lovely Cotswold town, Broadway Hotel pays homage to horses, with its Jockey Bar, and with all the rooms named after famous racehorses. Although there's no stabling outside, there is a secure private car park as well as gardens in which to stroll (rather than gallop, alas). Bedrooms are on the small side, but this being Broadway, are rather smart and well-to-do – bathroom toiletries are Molton Brown, to add to the feeling of luxury. Peckish? Both the bar and restaurant offer good food, and should you need to stride out for the day, the hotel will be delighted to offer you a packed lunch.
