Café Naz Express
46–48 Brick Lane, Spitalfields, London E1 6RF
Brick Lane is the heartland of Britain’s Bangladeshi community, and it’s hard to choose from the street’s seemingly endless lines of curry houses, especially with touts waiting to jump on anyone who lingers more than a half a second. Café Naz distinguishes itself with a ‘no tout’ policy, giving it a more laidback feel than its neighbours. The place has a moderately sleek and modern look, and there are two menus – one offering a Brit-friendly version of the cuisine, the other listing real Bangladeshi specialities. It’s worth trying the second and asking the waiters for recommendations. Otherwise, go for the lunchtime buffet and sample as much as you can.
